The UK’s first operational distance medical cannabis pharmacy has now launched, dedicated to fulfilling medical cannabis prescriptions.
EMMAC Life Sciences Group, Europe’s leading independent cannabis company, bringing together pioneering science and research with cutting-edge cultivation, extraction and production, has announced the launch of Medican, the UK’s first operational distance pharmacy dedicated to fulfilling medical cannabis prescriptions.
Medican has already processed more than 100 cannabis product prescriptions in the UK. As part of the EMMAC Life Sciences Group of companies, Medican is able to leverage a vertically integrated supply chain, intended to create value for predominantly self-funded private patients at this time.

The pharmacy will function as a distance selling pharmacy – which means patients do not have to visit the pharmacy to receive their prescription, they simply hand their cannabis prescription in electronically and receive their medicine via post.

Medican, is a division of its wholly owned subsidiary, Rokshaw Limited, a leading UK EU-GMP certified Specials manufacture, and as Rokshaw’s registered pharmacy, in conjunction with Rokshaw’s existing licenses, allows for the import, manufacture and secure delivery of medical cannabis products direct to UK-based patients.
