Servelec, a leading provider of digital care expertise, has announced its intention to enter the primary care space for the first time – could this bring better outcomes for clinicians & patients?
Signalling its commitment to bringing clinicians and patients together for better digital care at every point of entry, Servelec will lend its vast experience and digital care expertise in interoperable software solutions to the new framework, supporting the NHS in its digital transformation goals.
Utilising digital care expertise
Adding some of its solutions and those of selected partners to the recently announced GP IT Futures framework, Neil Laycock, Managing Director at Servelec, commented: “The GP IT Futures full tender is now out and is set to deliver the next iteration of the GP IT Systems, procured centrally and chosen locally.
“Most importantly, it provides the opportunity to increase the pace of digital innovation across primary care, and support the creation and running of primary care networks across England.
“This framework will help to deliver the vision set out by the NHS, through the Secretary of State, and NHSX and Digital, to provide innovative solutions that interoperate and support a more integrated way of working – not just in GP practices, but across primary care and community health.
“It gives Servelec a clear opportunity to leverage the knowledge we have in developing and delivering interoperable software in secondary care – extending it into primary care to help deliver seamless solutions for better outcomes.
“We will be adding some of our solutions to the framework, marking our first step into the primary care space. Whilst we are not at present aiming to deliver a primary care core system, we are aiming through our own solutions, and those of selected partners, to spearhead some of the innovation and change the NHS wants and needs.”
Servelec will be instrumental in bringing real choice
Through its presence on the framework, Servelec will enable integration with social prescribing providers, mobile community-based working, whilst providing solutions for primary care to integrate more closely with community services and social care sectors, as part of the move into primary care networks. By joining the framework, Servelec will be instrumental in bringing some real choice in how the capabilities stated in the framework are delivered.
“It’s very exciting for us”, says Laycock. “As the NHS forges ahead with its transition to a digital future, it makes sense for us to extend the value of our solutions which are already tried and tested in Community and Mental Health and have a significant user base in these health sectors, to primary care.
“We strongly believe we are in an excellent position to really help to drive the delivery of integrated care across the board, in a community setting and beyond. As such, we welcome the framework and look forward to taking part”.
